Week Four Blog Assignment

Find any type of artistic work that truly inspires you as an artist. There are no limits here. Be specific. It might be work you aspire to or work you find confusing and yet appealing.

Paula Scher's "Maps" pieces are very intricate pieces, that only have a lot of meaning if seen up close, but they're still beautiful from far away.

I love the dream-like quality of Annie Leibovitz's Disney portraits.

Jill Greenberg's Portraiture is very inspiring to me, the lighting she sets up is incredible.

Week Three Blog Assignment

Find a variety of contemporary trends in graphic design that you have an opinion about.
This might be video, print, multimedia and all faucets of visual communication that could even include stage design, exhibition design, costuming, photography, fine art, stage design, broadcast design.

Flat and minimalistic design seems to be the craze nowadays. Logos losing gradients, and losing any 3D quality. Any shadows are cast off in vector format, and still lack dimension.

I wouldn't say I love this trend, but I do think it's become necessary, considering the technological age we are heading into. People are doing most things via the internet now, and lack patience, so simple, fast loading graphics are needed.
